Touch & Discover is an interactive museum console developed by me and four fellow Interaction Design students during a project course at Chalmers. The goal was to enrich the visitor experience at the Gothenburg Sports Museum (Idrottsmuseet). The prototype
focuses on the life and achievements of legendary Swedish boxer
Ingemar Johansson and aims to address the museum’s challenges of
cluttered displays and limited information. By combining a touchscreen
interface with curated multimedia content and real-world
exhibit interaction through light cues, the project enhances accessibility,
storytelling, and engagement. Although created as a
prototype, the system demonstrates how interactive technology
can transform static exhibitions into immersive and educational
experiences for a broader audience.

In the final prototype, set in Ingemar Johansson’s department, the visitor sees a standing console surrounded by all of Ingemar’s exhibits.

The main video plays on the console’s home screen to catch the visitor’s eye and attention. It was created by me.
