Project Overview
SmartFishing is a mobile application designed to help anglers plan their fishing trips more easily by bringing essential information and tools into one place. It combines weather forecasts, fishing locations, licences, educational content, and community features in a single experience. The project also promotes responsible fishing, environmental awareness, and spending more time in nature.
The Problem
1. Fishing conditions are difficult to interpret
Wind, temperature, tides, and other environmental factors strongly affect fishing, but they can be difficult to understand, especially for beginners.
2. Fragmented information
Anglers need to switch between multiple apps and websites for weather, licences, fishing spots, learning, and social sharing.
3. Limited beginner-friendly guidance
Existing fishing apps often focus on specific functions rather than combining practical planning tools with structured learning and guidance.

We explored existing fishing platforms, studied fishing literature, and consulted anglers to understand their needs and how environmental conditions affect fishing.
